A Bit Of Festive Sparkle

Makeup, Festive Makeup, Christmas Makeup Look, Katie Writes,

'Tis the season for Christmas parties, so here are a selection of my fave festive picks! Whether you're off to a party, or just looking to add a bit of sparkle to your everyday makeup over the festive season, here are some fantastic & generally dazzling high street products:

Rimmel Kate Lipstick in 53 Retro Red

I picked this up in my recent Boots haul, and it is SO pretty. Am I alone in being some kind of weird magpie that's only attracted to lipsticks? It can't just be me, right? But I can't seem to pass a makeup display without picking at least one up. Anyway, this is a great value red lipstick with fantastic staying power. It's highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way. At first glance, it looks quite berry toned, but when you apply it, it's actually red. Trust me.

Topshop Glow Highlighter in Polished

I picked this pretty highlighter up after seeing so many other bloggers raving about it. It's a creamy, pearly-coloured highlighter, which just glides on to your cheekbones. The word 'glow' in the name is so appropriate because that is exactly what you get! This is probably my favourite highlighter right now, just because of how luminous it makes me look! It's fairly pricey at £10, but a little goes a really long way.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Eternal Gold

The Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows are so good! They come in a fantastic range of colours (which I think I've covered before on the blog somewhere) and I'm loving this gorgeous gold shade at the moment. If you struggle to apply eyeshadow, or want a no-fuss product, this is the one for you! It's so easy that anyone could do it - and, they're under a fiver!

Barry M Limited Edition Red Carpet Ready Palette

I briefly mentioned this pretty palette in my Boots Haul post (find here) when I picked it up on a whim. I love the range of glittery shades on offer here, and they're so pigmented too! At £6.49, it's really good value, and there's even a primer thrown in as well. Cheers, Barry.

Benefit High Beam Highlighter

This mini little bottle of the well-loved Benefit staple is only £5! It's great alternative to the Topshop Glow highlighter for adding some luminosity to dull winter skin. Just dot a bit of High Beam above your cheekbones, cupid's bow, and under your eyebrows to give yourself a bit of sparkle! Unlike the one above, this is a liquid highlighter, but a little goes a long way here too!

Revlon Nail Polish in Revlon Red

What's more festive than pretty red nails? This beautiful shade, which was apparently introduced back in the thirties, costs £6.49. It's a truly iconic red shade, and so affordable too!

MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo

You're already aware of this gem, aren't you? You must be. Ruby Woo is the go-to red lipstick for masses of people. It's a gorgeously vivid red shade, with a blue tone to it. The only downside is that it's really matte, so if you're prone to dry and chapped at this time of year, like me - you're gonna need a lot of lip balm underneath!

NYX Baked Eyeshadow in Ambrosia

I picked this pretty, glittery eyeshadow up a few weeks ago, on a whim - and I'm so glad I did! This is such a highly pigmented, pretty eyeshadow and it's only £5! Like a lot of the products I've talked about, a little goes a really long way, and it's just such a lovely shade. I tend to couple it with Max Factor's Wild Shadow Pot in Feral Brown, because they just work so well together!
