Whether you're off to a party, or you're having a lovely cosy night in, NYE is always a bit of a special night, isn't it? So, I thought I'd take you through some of my favourite beauty products for a flawless, long-lasting NYE look! (Because you don't want your face to melt by 10pm, do you?)

Base

A foundation that I love, and has actually been my go-to base for quite a while, is MAC Studio Sculpt in NC15. It's actually light enough to suit my deathly pallor, it gives a pretty high coverage, offers moisture for dry skin, and it lasts for ages! (It's also SPF 15, so just beware of flashback with this one!)

Concealer-wise, another great product for a long-lasting full coverage is the NYX Full Coverage concealer. It's around £5 a pot, and it gives fantastic under-eye coverage for the price! After this, I pop a bit of the old favourite, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (not pictured) over the top. They're a bit of a (bargain) winning duo, to be honest.

To set the base, and to keep everything in place for hours to come, use a good powder. My personal favourite right now is Rimmel Stay Matte powder because it's so affordable, but great for the price!

Something that's quite new to my makeup bag is the fantastic Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. I picked this up recently for my graduation ceremony, mainly so that my face didn't melt halfway through. It's expensive, but is really, really good at keeping your makeup in place for hours. You just spritz your face with it after applying your makeup and it keeps your makeup in place all night. Hence the name!

Eyes

You didn't think I'd really stray away from my old favourite Max Factor False Lash Effect did you? If you haven't tried this brilliant mascara, go out and buy it now! (Like, literally, this second!) It's £11, and in about seven years, I've never found a mascara I love more than this. Not even Benefit's They're Real. It's that good. False Lash Effect gives you fantastic volume, and adds great length to your lashes, all without getting all horrible and clumpy.

(Just a word of advice: I'd always go for the normal version, as some of the spin offs are a bit iffy.)

An eyeliner that I've loved for ages is Soap & Glory's Supercat. It's just what you want in an eyeliner: doesn't smudge easily, has a nib that allows both a thin & thick line, and it's only £6! In fact, it's on offer at £5 right now.

And if you're after a bit of sparkle in the form of eyeshadow? There's a pretty, great value palette that I mentioned in my Christmas makeup post that's hopefully right up your street!

Lips

Can we all please just stop and appreciate how pretty this Chanel lipstick is? It's Chanel Coco Rogue in 97 Desinvolte. Because I didn't study French at school, I had to Google what the name means. In case you didn't know either, it's 'casual'. I think the name sums up this lipstick quite well. It's subtle, but really enhances your natural lip colour. It's quite moisturising, and has a shiny finish. Desinvolte has genuinely become my go-to daily lipstick, just because of how pretty and moisturising it is! Oh, and the whole, 'using a luxurious Chanel lipstick to feel classy' thing.

And if you're after something more matte? Which, let's face it, has more staying power... My recommendation is Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Amazing Grace. (I've already reviewed this gorgeous lipstick in more detail here.) There's nothing about this lipstick I don't love: the packaging, the shade, and the lasting power. If you're prone to super-dry lips at this time of year, like me, I'd apply lip balm quite liberally underneath this lippy though.

Whatever you're doing tonight, have a wonderful night, and stay safe!*
