Brighten your day with some blooms.

On Wednesday, I drove into town for a haircut. Afterwards, I went for a walk around one of my favourite places, Belper River Gardens, because the weather was so lovely. THEN, I decided to treat myself to a big bunch of sunflowers. Because, why not?

You don't need an excuse to treat yourself to some blooms, and they don't even need to break the bank either. That bunch of sunflowers cost a measly £3.50. There are plenty of other (good quality) supermarket flowers that are even cheaper.

Sunflowers have a particular significance for me. They stir up a lot of old memories, they're the one type of flower that's synonymous with my childhood. I remember planting sunflower seeds with my dad, watching them grow tall, and them towering over me as a little child. So, whenever I look at sunflowers, it takes me back to simpler times; more innocent times.

Plus, there's something about having fresh flowers in the house that cheers me up. It brightens my day to come downstairs in the morning to be greeted by a bouquet or two adorning the fireplace.

So, why shouldn't you treat yourself to some flowers if they brighten your day? Don't wait for someone else to buy you flowers. Just go and treat yourself to some!
